Program Description
This certificate program will provide you the skills, both personal and professional, to become a capable entry-level pharmacy technician. At Pima Medical Institute, hands-on training and lab time that simulates real-world settings will prepare you to enter the workforce immediately after graduation. This program also develops professional skills such as customer service, prescription preparation, patient profiling and drug inventory maintenance. The duties and responsibilities required by pharmacy technicians are vital to improving patient experience and ensuring optimal efficiency in pharmacy settings.

Provide advanced training for individuals seeking to be Pharmacy Technician

Provide the students with the knowledge and skills necessary to pass the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) Examination.
Admission Requirement​​

Must be at least 17 years of age

Must have high school diploma or GED (proof of high school diploma or GED certification is required)

High School seniors may enter the program at age 17, but must be 18 and a high school graduate at the time of program completion.

Must not have any drug or alcohol related offense

Submit completed enrollment agreement form
Clinical/Externship

Graduates of the Pharmacy Technician Program are eligible to participate in an externship experience at Walgreens Pharmacy.

The Optional 160 hours Walgreens externship is the capstone of the Learning Experience, allowing the students to apply what they have learned to the real-world experience.
